Spring Fashion Trends 2025

Prints, Powder Pink, Romantic Ruffles, Sustainability & Some

Read on to discover some of the major trends emerging for Spring dressing in 2025. You may have already seen some of these trends floating, thanks to being a seasonal step behind the Northern Hemisphere, and some trends you'll see align with our Autumn/Winter 25 forecast.

As always, we're making it all approachable and mum-friendly!

Your spring colour pallete

Soft powder pink

Along with pretty pastels – think soft, muted ice cream tones – pretty powder pink has been featured throughout the spring/summer 2025 shows from Alaia, Miu Miu, Chanel, Valentino and more.

Soft, airy powder pink feels like a welcome addition to accompany some of the stronger and more polarising shades that are trending.

Clue – think of colours that look good enough to eat! Along with powder pink, peach, mint green, and baby blue are also trending. Colour blocking your pastels is encouraged.

Chocolate, maroon and earthy neutrals

Often seen as a counter to bright and bold colours – your earthy, deep tones can bring balance to brighter shades, and the fashion juxtaposition is a very Scandi-cool move. You've no doubt seen chocolate or 'mocha mousse' everywhere, from activewear to luxe knitwear – it's still trending.

Navy & Tan paired together are having a big moment – you may choose to wear these colours in bold stripes, or in solid colour blocking format. These two classic colours may also be paired with red or yellow.

Vibrant, Bold Hues: Sunshine yellow, ocean blues, lush greens, and tropical colours are prominent, reflecting the energetic spirit of summer.

Unleash your inner wild with an animal print

Statement-making prints – Leopard, Snake and Zebra

Animal prints in all varieties are being spotted – from snakeskin boots to leopard print trench coats. Animal print will effortlessly add a bold statement to your outfit, and always packs a style punch, especially if your print is in a non-traditional, bright colour.

Leopard print remains the King of the fashion jungle – and is now experiencing a big resurgence (did it ever really go away?). Leopard print is a classic print that serves as a 'neutral' in most wardrobes – working easily back with denim, black, brown and brights. It works well across all seasons, too.

We are also seeing zebra print – always a showstopper, zebra print is for the confident fashion-mummas. If you're not into head-to-toe animal print, adopt accents of it via your footwear or accessories – belts, handbags, scarves.

Romance yourself

Romantic ruffles, sheer flowing layers

The romantic notion from the bohemian 70s trend we touched on in our Autumn 25 & Beyond trends blog is still going strong. Tie-dye and playful retro prints are also worth a dabble this spring/summer.

Romance is being expressed through voluminous skirts and billowing blouses. Additional ruffles and soft, sheer flowing chiffon fabrics are being worn alone or over the top of pants for a texture mash-up. You may choose to balance a voluminous style with a thin ribbed knit and low-key flats for the daytime. Dress up with a strappy, but minimal sandal for the evening.

These delicately light and flouncy fabrics are in soft ivory and ethereal shades, as well as delicate floral fabrics – see Modström's Pink Blossom print – stunning!

Maison Hotel brings the boho romance but with an edge – it feels effortless, undone, yet beguiling. Their gorgeous, unique statement prints and detailing cry "wear it your way". Put your own stamp on their pieces and wear with your favourite denim, neck-tie or bandana and vintage cowboy boots.

Sustainable Style – Suits us just fine

Relaxed & elevated – always conscious

Along with incoming trends in prints and colour, there is a strong focus on comfort and sustainability that weaves it all together. Thus, the athleisure trend continues – see the incredible tracksuit sets by Modstöm below. Speaking of sets, sets of all varieties are big: print sets, suede sets, linen and more. Sets take the thinking out of an outfit – we love this as mums! Who has time to coordinate an outfit!? Watch this space as we have some gorgeous linen short sets on the way from Patara Life in September!

Relaxed and elevated suits us, mums, just fine. We need outfits that cover a lot of bases – AKA are as versatile as possible & preferably wash-friendly. Comfort has always been key – but let’s face it, after 'slopping' about for 9 months and more, we’re desperate to feel pulled together again (while still maintaining the comfort) – it’s hard to revert back to rigid after living in activewear and trackies.

Enter – Ceres Life – this brand is where you'll find your hard-working, effortless staples. Styles that are comfortable, yet fashion-forward in a very accessible way.

You want brands that are breathable and sustainable – this should be a priority for designers everywhere. Luckily, at The Mum Loop – we do the brand vetting on your behalf, so you can always trust you're buying sustainable, ethical and premium quality brands that will serve you and your wardrobe well for many years to come.

In Summary

Your key fashion takeaways

  • Colour palette: Think delicious desserts – soft sorbet pastels that look good enough to eat, 'chocolate mousse' brown, vanilla, biscuit crumble – drizzle some sweet sauce on top – passionfruit yellow or blood-red orange.
  • Prints: Pick one bold animal print this season, whether it's leopard or zebra – adopt via a shirt or matching set, or accessories.
  • Shapes: 70s – flowy romantic ruffles, via skirts, blouses or oversized dresses. Or go the opposite direction and adopt a comfy, casual matching tracksuit set – in a bold, vibrant colour or soft and muted shade.
  • Stripes: Always stripes.

Hot Tip: Try out this season's hottest trendthe head scarf. Wear it on your head, around your neck, or around your waist – whatever takes your fancy. Have a play at home and experiment. Head to your favourite op-shop or vintage store to find a scarf that's unique.
