Aleger Cashmere – Our Premium Cashmere Brand

Brand Spotlight on Aleger Cashmere

Aleger Cashmere was launched in 2020, so it's relatively 'young' for a fashion brand, but the two founders – Ali and Steve, both share decades of industry experience in design and in cashmere yarn farming, yarn spinning and knitwear production. Aleger Cashmere is now comprised of a small global team united by a shared passion for exceptional knitwear production, quality and design.

Why choose Aleger Cashmere?

Aleger's designs are timeless yet contemporary. At The Mum Loop, we launched with Aleger's Autumn/Winter 2025 collection – featuring a varied colour palette that served both the conservative fashion mumma, as well as the mums looking for something that's a little less ordinary. We are pleased to present a second winter collection from Aleger – their gorgeous Autumn/Winter 2026 range.

Regardless of your personal tastes, Aleger pieces are designed to last for years to come to be 'forever cashmere favourites'. We love brands that emphasise quality over quantity and encourage repeat wear. We consider premium knitwear to be at the top of a mum's capsule wardrobe essentials list. Your knitwear should work hard in your wardrobe, serving as soft, warm, wearable layers you reach for over and over.

Aleger's ethos is one of conscious design. Each core seasonal collection blends and evolves into the next. They design this way to ensure that new styles and colourways can be added to existing favourites in order to refresh and build on outfits and looks without the need to retire previous season's pieces.

A cashmere cardigan is a wardrobe staple

I can't think of a more useful item of clothing than a lightweight, luxuriously soft Aleger cashmere cardigan. The newest additions this Autumn-Winter season are the 275 Cashmere Feathereight Cardi in Terry2 and for those of you who love colour on dull winter days and embrace dopamine dressing in all its glory, then the 491 Cashmere Blend Collared Cardi in Fuschia is for you.

To care for your Aleger Cashmere piece, handwash in lukewarm water with gentle, sulphate-free detergent. Gently squeeze out the excess water by rolling in a towel and reshape drying flat. Store with aromatic cedar blocks or sachets to keep moths at bay.

Aleger's commitment to quality underpins everything they do

Aleger only buys yarn that is fully traceable and sustainable from three key suppliers that have an impeccable reputation in the industry. This discernment is key for Aleger Cashmere to maintain its reputation.

Aleger's yarn supplier cultivates their own cashmere goat pastures in Ordos Otuke Banner in Inner Mongolia and is certified to US and EU organic farming standards. They are also GOTS certified, so they have traceability through their supply chain from the farm right to the finished goods.

The wool in Aleger's cashmere blend yarns is bought from suppliers certified with the responsible wool standard. The 70% Wool 30% Cashmere blend is produced using 40% recycled wool.

Feel-good manufacturing

Aleger produce all of their collections in their own knitwear factory that is certified annually by independent audit bodies.

Under The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) Aleger's knitting factory and the production management arm of their business adhere to high-level environmental and social compliance criteria along the entire supply chain. They can trace the organic status of their product, from harvesting of the raw materials through to environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing. In addition, The Global Recycle Wool Standard (GRS) certification enables them to trace and certify the recycled content in their wool/cashmere blends.

Aleger Cashmere is a quiet luxury brand without the luxury price tag.
